Today I walked through slushy ice and melting snow to remember those lives suddenly taken during severe weather across the UK last week. A.A. Milne Poem
The “Beast from the East” weather front was followed by Storm Emma and it caused total chaos for 48 hours between March 1st and March 2nd 2018.
The Armed Forces were called in as the death toll rose to 10. They helped the emergency and rescue services and highway teams. Link to the Telegraph with videoclips
Temperatures reached below -12 in the South West, The Midlands, The North and Scotland. People were stuck in their cars and on trains over night.
I’m really sorry but snow and ice on the roads are serious. I dedicate this blog to a minute silence. JMH
