ABOUT

jo-and-sam-peddle-cars-2.webp

My passion for life began with pedal cars back in the 1970s. Here I am at five years old, driving my very first car alongside my three-year-old sister. I often think the freedom I enjoyed during my childhood is reflected in the creativity I have today. I can remember those days so clearly. Dad found an unwanted children's pedal car abandoned at the local tip. He brought it home and lovingly restored it using old tins of paint from our shed. They are such happy memories yet equally I was always in a mental frenzy to be understood and break away.

Then like many of us, my teenage years couldn't pass quickly enough. My Grandad would always tell me to be patient, reminding me that life would whizz by soon enough.

I saved as much as I could from my Saturday job at a hairdresser's towards my first real car—no more pedalling! Then one day soon after my 18th Birthday Dad and I put the car pot savings together and bought my first real car, a blue Mini 998cc. Unfortunately, the car turned out to be a bit of a banger! The wheel arches were packed with newspaper and body filler, and it leaked like a sieve! I'll never forget my longest journey at the age of 18 to visit my Auntie Angela in Bournemouth. Rain poured into the passenger footwell for much of the journey, and my sister was laughing and saying, "There's water coming in!" Plus the  poor little Mini seemed to fail one M.O.T. test after another!

These days I look forward to sharing and experiencing life and bringing it to you in form of a column or a script, a blog post or an interview write up. My passion for good public relations is perhaps my favourite subject and if you are looking for a better connection with your customers why not book a complimentary break out session with me to drill down into how to serve your people in your business. PR is not marketing it's building a comms strategy that matches your brand philosophy, with thoughtful openings between you and your customers.
